God I love Bukowski. I would never take relationship advice from the guy, nor would I want to date him–I would have when I was more self destructive, though. He would have gotten a nice handful of my booty. But I love his raw, gruff writing. My friend Aasta (rhymes with pasta) posted this quote to her Facebook page last night and I had to put it on a photo and blog it. If you’re into awesome vintage clothing, you should check out Aasta’s Etsy shop, Vintage Omaha.
My metaphorical lover is writing, and I love it so much lately, it could plunge a knife into my back and I’d be all, “Writing, you look so cute when you’re murderous!”
Find what you love and let it kill you.
Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness.
Let it kill you and let it devour your remains.
For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it’s much better to be killed by a lover.
